I received this email today...

Dear India,

I started following you on LinkedIn and saw you were still doing amazing things. I’m happy you responded because I’ve been waiting for YEARS to thank you for the opportunity you provided me Summer 2013. I want you to know that your work and influence is well appreciated. You played a tremendous role in my success early in my career. Jp Morgan was my first internship and my first time traveling outside of Georgia (Yes, I’m an Atlanta native). At the time of applying for the internship, I was barely maintaining a 3.0 GPA as a Computer Science major. I was on the verge of giving up on pursuing a STEM degree. The internship made a difference in my life and showed me grades didn’t define my success or career trajectory. Since graduating from Spelman, I earned a MS in Engineering from University of Washington and worked as a researcher at IBM, Nike, Intel, and Hulu. I’m currently pursing a PHD in Computer Science at Georgia Tech.
