'I will reach out when a requirement arises' - is a LIE!

In the different walks of life, for all those Sales pitches that we would bump into, the easiest escapism that would come into anyone's mind is to ignore the 'understanding' and, not hurt the t(s)eller with your words. Hence, tell them 'I will reach out when a requirement arises'! This done, without even having the introductory call is a certain mistake.

In the history of Sales, I believe, reaching out when a requirement arises would have never happened unless the Seller is a known person.

The little effort that you can put to understand what exactly the service/solution/tool/product is all about, shall benefit ONLY you, as a Customer. You may or may not need it for today, but certainly some day. The technology arena is always getting updated and equipping itself with creativity, new players and combined offerings. Getting yourself knowledgeable on these to evaluate the best fit for your Organization is your responsibility and so never push an opportunity to interact on the Sales pitches, rather discuss, collect information, be transparent in setting up the expectations and then take your time on the decision making.

Sales pitches can't be ignored as it happens multiple times even in a day in this era and so never LIE to yourself by just pushing it aside by 'I will reach out when a requirement arises'!
