“I rate them up with the best.”

Chris Bader has some very good reasons for liking the Italian-made Walcom Slim Kombat spray gun and it’s not just about the superior finish. (Though that’s important too.)
Weighing in at just 380 grams, with a quick half turn air cap, Chris Bader says the Kevlar? fibre gun is a favourite amongst his self-confessed fairly big spray gun collection. “The Slim Kombat is always what I grab first. I rate them up with the best.”
Chris says the first time he picked it up he thought; “Wow, that’s a nice gun. I use a pressure pot and the weight of hoses and normal metal guns really wear you down.” (The Slim Kombat is around 40% lighter than other guns.)
“The Slim Kombat is also very easy on the pocket compared with others. So, you can afford to get a couple!”
And he should know.
A while back Chris suffered a serious injury to his right arm which almost ended a career which had started when he left school and began work as a marine painter.
During his time undergoing rehabilitation and treatment for the bad break, he went to work for Paintco in Nelson who are stockists of industrial, automotive and marine paints. It was during his 12 years there that he became acquainted with Almax and the Walcom range.
Chris’s enjoyment of painting never left him, however, and he was soon back part-time before deciding that was what he wanted to commit to.
Now with Pinnacle Painters in Nelson, Chris works mostly re-furbishing furniture, doors and gates and the Slim Kombat is used regularly.
The Slim Kombat also helps deliver the high level of satisfaction Chris gets from his job. “If you’re doing a load of old house doors and you’ve worked your magic, you look back and think – I achieved that today!”
