I posted to LinkedIn... So where are my sales?

I often find myself having this conversation with business owners where they're being consistent on LinkedIn or Instagram or any digital channel and they wonder why their "marketing isn't working" and they have lumpy sales/lead pipeline.
I think this happens because of the cr*p that we see in these channels - "I made $100K off one LinkedIn post", "my last launch I made 1Mil from my Instagram"... You know the ones, they seem to good to be true.
That's because they are, and in the fine print what they forget to include is all the hard work they've put into positioning, networking, follow-ups, referrals, branding etc (or the money they've spent advertising...)
Very rarely (I won't say never) does someone post organically to social media and see a a flock of sales... especially when they've had great engagement...
I will repeat what a colleague said the other day "people buy in private."
So why waste time and effort in these channels you ask?
Well I would argue to build positioning, gain that like, know and trust, consumers expect to see that you have a digital presence of some sort - and social media is a great way to build personality into your brand.
Every activity you do though should have a understanding of what the expected ROI (return on investment) is - So maybe it is for branding, to be in front of your target - whatever the purpose your strategy needs to reflect the potential ROI based on a mix of organic posting plus you being active on the platform (the part most people miss...)
If you have followed me for a while, gotten these emails, listened to Marketing Espresso then you'd know that I speak about marketing not being one dimensional, if you're marketing but not selling well your marketing will be ineffective. Marketing without sales is like a car without an accelerator.
The reality is to build a viable business that is going to have longevity you have to be thinking outside this square of 'social media marketing' and even 'word of mouth' only...
It's not trendy, it requires your effort and it definitely isn't as appealing as the club telling you that social media marketing will save your business, or even AI is the answer to all your marketing woes, and let's not forget the 'but I get enough from Word of mouth' club.
I've seen every trend, I was a marketer when brands transitioned from traditional to digital channels, I understand the importance of learning the new ways of doing things but understand that without the fundamentals you don't have marketing... you're simply following a trend, and unfortunately trends have a drop off point, so ride them while you can, but understand the fall if you're not prepared... will hurt.
In an economy like this one... I am incredibly grateful for the 15+ years I've had in marketing roles... because let's not sugar coat it, tactics won't cut it now, and we know the best businesses are built from tough economies. (We can already see who is thriving in this market...)

I'm taking expressions of interest now to join me for one whole day to map out your strategy, and build the fundamentals for marketing in your business.
This is right for you if:
You have lumpy pipeline
You're feeling overwhelmed/ going into imposter syndrome because of social media
You're not sure what marketing you should be doing
You need clarity on your product/service offering
Your messaging isn't engaging your audience
You're looking to bring someone on board to manage your marketing
You already have someone managing your marketing but know they need more direction
You've followed me for awhile and know that you want to work with me but you're "too busy" or "don't have the budget"
Send me a DM if you're interested and I will give you some more details.
My mission is to give people honest marketing advice, no bullshit, no fluff, not what you want to hear, but what you need to hear to have actual transformations in your business, because you got the marketing piece right.
Yes it makes me polarising (and not for everyone...) yes I will challenge you... But when you are engaging someone to advise you on your business, me telling you what you want to hear, or me telling you to just post more to social media, or open a TikTok account - isn't what will give you results (because that isn't marketing...)
