"I Will Not" - a poem of war and peace - Naila Farouky

I WILL NOT, my first book for children, is a very emotional piece for me. I wrote it in the midst of the violence in Gaza in July 2014, and it was so soon after my father had passed away, so I was grieving and generally vulnerable and sensitive - partly because I missed my father so so much; but also because the situation in Gaza was becoming so impossible to bear...
Now, with the release of I WILL NOT fast-approaching, I am reminded of just how much I would have cherished the opportunity to share this with my amazing father... so, in lieu of that, I will settle for dedicating the book to my father, Azzam Taji Farouky, who I believe would have gotten an immense kick out of me publishing a poem for children about war! I think Dad would have found some choice words to describe this event. None of them fit to print smile emoticon
