I Pledge….

To be an investment to my country because I love all my fellow countrymen. I may be disillusioned by prejudices, but I am encouraged to learn about my place in this society where I can fit in and make a positive change that reflects my true position. I fear because of what past history has taught me, but I stand boldly for what the future must be. I am a proud South African citizen and to this end I will be the change that I want my children to have. Great leaders give us the freedom to invest a new legacy into our children's future. I will now be the leader and lead myself, my family and fellow countrymen by recognising that I have a lot to learn about our differences. These differences are the many roots of the same tree that all our children eat from. I am responsible for how I treat that tree for I too must eat of its fruit.
