I was "New"

I was "New", 2 months in a previous company, I was invited to join an event, I entered the room, I knew only him, the GM, I greeted him and asked:” can I join you on the table? He replies:” in this company we don’t have tables for managers and tables for normal people so feel free” with a poker face without a single eye contact.

I am "New", 2 months in my current company, I entered the room the GM and all country managers welcomed me and offered me a seat next to them, asked my opinion and my input to make the event more engaging, trusted me to be the master ceremony and the GM asked me to sit next to him in case he needed support I can be the man to go to.

In both situations I was the same "New" person ready to share, to engage, to support, but the leaders were different, the culture were different the human values was different.

I had a dream to be "Master of Ceremony" for years, but only when I met the right people who believed in me and saw the human values in me, that I was seen and given a chance to RISE and Shine and feel welcomed, included trusted and empowered.

Today I empathize with every person who is stuck and paralyzed in an environment that does not recognize potentials and does not appreciate talents.

I read this quote on several LinkedIn profiles: “if you are not happy move you're not a tree”, I was trying to move for years but only until my path lead me to people who resemble me in my core that I was able to move and not only move but blossom, removing all the dust of the past and be able to feel proud of the person I am today.

today I understand the saying:” if you are the smartest in the room leave”, I am not saying I am the best, but when you are not inspired, when you are not learning, when you have no one around you that makes you wish to be a better version of yourself, then put your focus to steer the wheel and take your focus to a new destiny.

A lot of people say:” I am here to work not to make friends” that is wrong, so wrong on so many levels, The strong bound I built with the people who welcomed me in the last 3 months is food to my soul, to my creativity and is crafting the sense of loyalty and belonging to the point I am wishing this environment to be my retirement place.

Find a place where your heart beats when you work,

Leave the place where you struggle to reach the end of the day, the end of the month the end of the year.
