When I first spoke to Mark all those weeks ago he was frustrated and fed up.
I could that he felt a little bit lost and it had taken a lot for him to reach out and message me.
Within the first few minutes of chatting to Mark, I knew he’d had enough and was ready to change.
He’d tried lots in the past to lose weight, some had worked and some hadn’t. But the end result was always the same, he’d pile the weight back on again, and then some!
You see like lots of us during Covid drink had become a crutch in the evenings, almost a reward for getting through the day and it had become the norm.

Except for two years later, it was still the norm.
The turning point was he’d caught a glimpse of himself passing by a shop window and didn’t like what he saw.
His favorite shirts no longer looked smart with the middle buttons were about to pop, it was embarrassing.
Truthfully, he was tired of the smart remarks about granddad’s belly. Sure, he laughed it off but it was getting him down.
The problem was Mark had always waited for the right time to start taking better care of himself and there never was... there would always be something going on.

We got stuck in, and over several weeks we made 2-3 small behavioral changes each week, ones that he could see himself actually doing long-term.
Each week we drilled down on the basics - Nutrition, Movement, and Behavior Change and we applied the Three P's . Keeping things simple and setting realistic goals Mark found his rhythm over the weeks and was confident he would be able to keep going after we finished working together.
The results, 15 lbs down and still going strong, boosted energy levels, improved sleep quality, boosted productivity, and more time to himself.
He was now proud to stand on stage in front of clients, attend family events and still enjoy himself without giving up his favorite foods and drink.
In fact, I remember on our last call he mentioned to me that he'd found it refreshing not to have that heavy groggy feeling the day after a few drinks and that he was a lot more productive.
Clients and friends had also started to notice a change, he looked fresher and had a lot more energy. He'd even gone out and bought himself some new shirts and felt good wearing them again.
He was back!
