Will I Meet A Smart Man This Year?

It's 3:15 am... I've had 5 hours sleep and its the first time in an almost 3 weeks of suffering with Covid-19 (even though I had the vaccine last spring). I awakened refreshed and full of energy, but it may only last for an hour or so... but I'm going to take full advantage of it.

Last night I kept having a dream... asking myself it I would find a "Smart Man" before the year ended. I must apologize for the "sexist" title... politically correct people would say "Smart Person", but that wasn't the question my dream was asking. You see the past 3 days I have spent countless hours going my LinkedIn messages since Xmas... and I found 2 common threads among them. They either wanted to teach me how to grow my network (assuming that was my business) or they were reaching out to me about joining their business. Not one of them asked the question... "What are YOU doing... are YOU successful... can I join YOUR business? Were any of these people "Smart"

If they had bothered to do any research, they would find me... a male, age 70, with education from multiple universities. Someone who spent 40 years in the computer world advancing to the position of Chief Information Officer in Corporate America. And, like many, upon reaching the age of 60, suffered the fate of "age discrimination" and was laid off. What odds would Vegas give to finding, at age 60, a parallel position with another company.

Its not a nice world...unemployment doesn't paying the mortgage... the stock market had tanked and savings were dwindling... resume services were useless, and professional head hunters had lots of entry level jobs at minimum wage. The future was rather bleak so, I turned to the MLM world for some income. A world in which I had "dabbled" with for over 40 years, but never taken seriously until then.

In the beginning, it was rough going. different companies, different products and services, everyone was touting the " next big thing". I could spend countless hours discussing that adventure, but lets fast forward 10 years and look at what happened.

1. At 70, I have a house, 2 cars, the bills are paid, and a credit score north of 800
2. I work with a company where (just like in the retail world) I make 100% profit. If I buy for $5.00 I sell for $10.00
3. I work with the wife who loves the product... and loves "mixing" with people. Sometimes I think I'm number 3 on the list... but only for a minute.
4. I spend as much or as little time as I want, but I still have to pay the IRS every year (I'm in the market for a really good tax accountant) because my income is over $100,000
5. I don't spend hours on the phone, trying to recruit people into my business... I don't have time.
6. Two years ago, some people walked up to me and asked me about my business. (There is a MLM aspect of the company) I spent 10 minutes explaining my business plan and they liked it. Today they are doing better than I am (and buy the way I do get a 10% commission on their sales). They are Smart People

So what is the "magical elixir" I gave them? Whats the name of this company that I have become so comfortable with? Maybe a Smart Man will ask me that question before the year ends?
