?? I love this song ??
Sound is so important. We choose music, we follow a certain singer, a band because we like how it sounds.?
Maybe we connect with their lyrics - the poetry,?
or with their look,?
their vibe,?
their cool;?
but ultimately, it comes down to their sound.
If we don’t like their sound, we won’t listen to them.
When I learn a language, I embrace the poetry and vibe and cool. And, importantly, I embrace the rhythm and melody. I try to meet the expectations of what the native language sounds like. I want to speak that language so native speakers are comfortable listening to me. I'm not worried about speaking with an accent. That's not a problem. But I don’t want to make it difficult for them to understand me. I don’t want to interrupt their experience of the music that’s a part of them, of who they are. I want to be a part of that music. I don't presume I can change their music. Why would I want to do that?
I want them to connect with my poetry,
my vibe,
with me,
and, ultimately, I want them to connect
ME with THEM.?
I love that song!
