I Love my 9-5! Here's Why:

No, you didn't read that wrong.

I love my 9-5. Put that on a t-shirt and never sell it! (well..perhaps not to anyone but me. BRB making t-shirts.)

But in all reality, despite the occasional stress - I don't despise Monday mornings. I wake up ready to take on the day and what awaits it. No more day-dreaming about grabbing a backpack to Bali (sometimes) because I discovered the values that were truly important to me in life could actually be synergistic in a work environment.

Trust me - I never thought it was possible. And before I got this job, I was backpacking in Bali. It actually took me six months of someone nagging me to apply before I actually did, and even that was out of pure desperation.

It actually took me six months of someone nagging me to apply!

I didn't realize 9-5 jobs had the option of being able to work from home. So when I started my job, I realized it wasn't working for someone else that I despised - it was the lack of freedom.

Remote jobs focus on results-based outcomes - not just what you can get done in 8 hours. I love the freedom of being able to work at the couch, in comfortable clothes, and not have to worry about waking up at a certain time.

That extra freedom has enabled me to think outside the box - I no longer need to dress-to-impress, worry about falling asleep, or constantly stare at the clock. I'm able to take breaks when needed, focus on tasks when essential, and pour extra creativity into out-reaches and other areas that would benefit the company.

I never wanted to work a 9-5. But now that I am, it's one of the best decisions I ever made.

My stroke of lucky came from desperation and struggle - But if you're an entrepreneur, someone who's looking for work, or someone who wants to "work and travel" I wouldn't nix getting a 9-5 that lets you hit the road.

My suggestion is to narrow down your values, and know what's most important. If you want a job that lets you stay home to be with your kids but is a slight pay-cut - then that's something you have to weigh. In the end, going with your gut will serve you best to make the right choice.

And don't always assume a job won't be a good fit if you haven't really looked in to it. My job is in sales - something I thought I hated! And what do you know - wrong again.

From entrepreneur to estatic employee - If I can work a 9-5 and love it, anyone can xD.

If you'd like more details on how exactly to land a remote job, you can watch a video my friend Taylor made here. She's got a whole course on how to nail down a resume, get hired in a competitive market, and narrow down your career path too!

Thank you for reading!

That's the beauty of working for a remote company, as long as someone delivers on time, it makes no difference where they are based ?? On another note, I actually look forward to Mondays ??
