I Like Leftovers, Issue #18

I Like Leftovers, Issue #18

I was plating my lunch, and I was putting my lentil soup in a bowl along a side of baked purple sweet potatoes, and I was thinking to myself how much I love leftovers- and they always seem to taste better after they’ve been in the fridge for a couple of days.

Except for French Fries and Pizza, those are a couple of not so tasty exceptions to the rule, in my humble opinion. I may have just started a war here.

The baked sweet potatoes were from a previous dish earlier in the week that I had with some air fryer chicken and veggies, and the caramelized part of the sweet potato tasted like it got sweeter and more delicious (Chef’s Kiss).

Now, here’s the point I’m trying to make:

When you’re a busy professional, you try to maximize your time in any way possible. You meal prep for yourself or your family so that you don’t have to cook every single day, and whatever leftovers you have, you use it to make something different, but it’s from the same left overs.

This is a popular practice during Thanksgiving and Christmas since there is always so much food that we don’t want to waste.

Well, if it can be done in the kitchen, it can also be applied in the office.

More notoriously known as repurposing!

These are some things that you can repurpose in your business:

1. Blog Post or Email Newsletter

You can repurpose the content from your blog post into an e-book to offer as a free download to your audience. Use it to create YouTube videos or use as a basis for webinars. You can also use it to create smaller bite sized content for social media.

2. Social Media

If you have a heavy social media following, then you could easily repurpose your client testimonials. That’s a great way to showcase client satisfaction for your business. Cross posting to other platforms is also great. You may just have to tweak the post a little, as what may work on Facebook, may not be as effective on LinkedIn or Instagram.

3. Webinars or Youtube Videos

If your content is mostly videos or webinars, you can create short clips to post on other platforms. These can also be included in blog posts and newsletters.

If you already have content from a blog post, social media or even a newsletter, why waste it? You can use that same information to repurpose over and over again.

Here’s the bottom line:

Just as leftovers in the kitchen can be transformed into delicious meals with a little creativity, so too can existing content in your business be repurposed to create valuable assets.

By adopting a mindset of repurposing, you can make the most of your resources and maximize your time, which is what we ultimately want. So, whether you're cooking up a delicious meal or creating compelling content, remember repurposing is the secret ingredient to success in both the kitchen and the office.

Chuckle of the day!

Why don’t leftovers ever win arguments?

Because they always end up getting re-heated!

The only thing that makes pizza taste better after being in the fridge is putting it in the air fryer! Just my opinion though :) I love you're idea of repurposing though! So smart!
