I lied but you don't

Dear Son,
Let me take you to a recent experience at the gym and I feel the experience is required to be shared with you. Imagine this: a challenging morning exercise routine, with each repetition demanding more from our bodies and minds. The coach, driven by a desire to see us excel, urged us on, pushing the limits of our endurance.
While gasping? for breath, we soldiered on, knowing that the next 20 minutes would test us like never before. Upon completion, the coach congratulated us, igniting a discussion on who had achieved the feat seven times over. Though I had managed six, I found myself raising my hand, a needless attempt to stand out amongst my peers.
In hindsight, I realize the folly of my actions. Six repetitions were commendable, yet I sought validation where none was required. Only three others had matched my achievement, rendering my efforts to look best unnecessary and hollow. It dawned on me that the pursuit of recognition through deceit is a fruitless endeavor.
In the days that followed, as the memory of our exertions faded, I came to understand the futility of my actions. No one would remember that I was the best that morning. And so, I implore you, my dear son, to heed this lesson.
In life, you will encounter individuals who may seem to surpass you in various arenas. The temptation to embellish your own accomplishments may arise, driven by a desire to shine brighter. But let me assure you, my son, that dishonesty is not the path to genuine success. This act of mine may seem too innocuous but through these small acts of deceit, one may form a gigantic habit which is not required.?
Instead, channel your energies into self-improvement. Strive to excel through hard work and dedication. Earn recognition through your genuine achievements, not through falsehoods that crumble under scrutiny. True fulfillment comes from knowing that your accomplishments are earned with integrity.
Remember, my son, to stay focused on your journey towards excellence. Let your consistent efforts make greatness a natural extension of who you are. And above all, remain honest in your pursuits, for integrity is the cornerstone of a life well-lived.
With all my love,
Papa
