Every night before bed, my husband and I turn on the TV and usually end up falling asleep within minutes.
We usually put on something like a sports game or Shark Tank reruns. Last night, we put on the Avengers, a very calming, sleep-inducing movie.
Anyways, as I was drifting off to the sounds of explosions, I heard a line in the movie that made me turn over, grab my phone, and open a Note to jot down what I heard.
In the movie, Captain America asks Iron Man, “What’s the plan of attack?” To which Iron Man responds, “The plan is...Attack.”
Why’d that line get me to move? Because it made me think of marketing and how we plan, plan, and plan some more. And usually, we’ll plan ourselves into inaction.
Yes, there’s no denying that you can’t always wing it.
But, sometimes, we become our biggest roadblock because we’re planning for perfection rather than attacking and then adjusting.
When it comes to marketing, you have to find the equilibrium between both.
You need to plan, but you also need to be ready and willing to push forward and try something new.
Who knew an action movie could provide such clear marketing insight?
