I learned to build my own community by watching others

I’m often told that The Gather Community is different. How, you ask? It definitely comes down to the people.
I had been searching for a community for many years. I would go to meetings and I would meet the same people over and over. Every now and then, I would see a glimmer of hope - I would meet a new person, and we would really hit it off, but then for whatever reason, they didn’t show up at the next meeting, nor the next one, ad I would be relegated to starting over.
Eventually, I channeled Field of Dreams - If You Build It, They Will Come. I decided to build my own group, make my own events, and invite people I met. It started off really slowly - but lessons were learned, and finally, we are here, in our 4th year of The Gather Community, and on the verge of exploding growth.
Who we learn from doesn’t necessarily have to be a model to follow. It can be a model of what NOT to do. In any case, we learn as we go.?
Connect, learn, watch, and grow. That’s what we do around here. I hope that we are a model to follow instead of what NOT to do. ??
Looking forward to being in community with you again, soon.
