As I learn, so shall I grow: Surmeet Kaur Arora’s #MyInfosysStory

I joined Infosys Consulting in May 2022, and my journey in this organization has been nothing short of amazing. Right from the outset, my motivation to be a part of this esteemed organization was none other than Mrs. Sudha Murty, a living legend who embodies everything a woman aspires to be. She serves as an inspiration to all young women who dream of reaching for the stars, myself included.

My journey began with the completion of my MBA from DMS, IIT Delhi in 2022. The transition from campus life to the corporate world has been a profound learning experience, accelerated by the opportunities and engaging projects that Infy bestowed upon me. It has shaped my values and propelled me to take a lead role in my projects, something I wouldn’t have thought possible before I discovered Infy’s culture of empowerment. I've been inspired to continuously upskill myself through the LEX program and have pursued multiple certifications to further refine my skills.

My journey at Infosys has been profoundly enriching, brimming with exceptional learning opportunities. I've completed over 50 courses on LEX in FY 22-23 and obtained multiple Microsoft Certifications, guided by my counsellor and Engagement Manager. Additionally, I successfully completed a 30-hour Service Design training program sponsored by my practice.

One of the most invaluable lessons I've learned during my time is that teamwork indeed makes the dream work. Working alongside the right people has made a significant difference in overcoming challenges and making my journey seamless and smooth. With the right team, corporate success knows no bounds. And my team here is a prime example of that.

Currently, I hold the role of a Data Manager in my project, where my responsibilities include understanding various data sources for Power BI/Power App Dashboards and collaborating with a team of Data Engineers to ingest them into ADL. I also collaborate with a group of Power BI/Power App Developers to create visualizations and applications, address data issues related to data curation, data quality, and data ingestion, and formulate requirements for the development of Apps and Dashboards deployed within the team and at a global level. The excitement of being engaged in such an important role has only added to my motivation to be better at my job.

I firmly believe in the notion that learning should be a continuous journey, serving as a pillar for individual growth. Infosys has played a pivotal role in complementing this journey, providing a conducive environment for learning and personal development that has led to my role in the organization.

In conclusion, my journey at Infosys has been a testament to the boundless opportunities and the nurturing environment that this organization offers, fostering growth, learning, and personal development that empowers not only individual team members, but the organization as a whole. That’s what sets Infosys apart and makes me a proud Infoscion.
