I KNOW YOU'RE LYING ??

There's been an increase in the number of scamming techniques, and scammers are getting better and better at deceiving us.
Phishing attacks have seen a significant surge in recent years. In 2023, phishing attacks increased by over 58%, largely due to the growing sophistication of cybercriminals leveraging AI and social engineering tactics. In 2024, this trend continued, with a notable 36.6% rise in phishing emails during the first quarter of the year alone.
So...
Yesterday, I received this text message claiming to be from DHL.
It only took about a few second to realize that something was, and pardon the pun... Phishy ??
The fight against scammers has forced those who have taken an oath to defend the "mobile digital community universe" to come up with smarter ways for prevention.
Welcome to the Quick Look Link. If you soft press on the link, you don't need to open the link, but can quickly see what it is. Voila... instant safety.
The Quick Look Link showed me a Greek Postal Service Company, and perhaps one of the most, if not the most, well-known courier service provider (sorry if I've offended anyone). It's the Greek company ELTA which is a powerful brand name.
Now mind you, ELTA would never spam you. And I'd love to show you the Link, but it is now broken. Nevertheless, I'll show you the broken link, because I do have a point to make.

The link would have taken you to ELTAL and, (having opened the link to see what it was all about out of curiosity), it asked you for personal details.
But ELTAL doesn't exist. Obviously.
The thing that struck me as wonderful was the fact that in less than 24 hours, digital response teams had responded and taken down the link! Woohooo
Pretty fast.
So, in an attempt to both warn and inform, if you spend a few seconds, just a few, you can easily save yourself the pain and trouble of having to cancel all your cards, close your bank accounts, all while putting on an angry face and cursing the unknown...all while you call your financial institution to inform them that you have shared your important credit card details.
You can save yourself if you learn to observe.
Deception is just around the corner...
