Similarly, Grace Browne points out for Wired that artificial intelligence “continues to be fed racist and sexist training materials and then distributed around the world.”
This could prove a bigger problem than previously imagined, considering Amanda Hoover and Samantha Spengler wrote for Wired that some autistic people find AI chatbots helpful for rehearsing communication skills. It should be noted the exact outcomes of AI use for therapeutic reasons is largely unknown.

A quick update on (HBO) Max
Warner Bros. Discovery’s rebrand of its streaming platform HBO Max to simply “Max” has officially gone through.
Lauren Forristal writes for TechCrunch, users now have “access to 35,000 hours of content—more than double the amount that HBO Max offered.”
Meanwhile, Armando Tinoco reports for Deadline that the social media manager at NBCUniversal’s Peacock tweeted a joke about an R-rated name change:
“I know you’re all very disappointed, but I will *not* be dropping the first half of my name any time soon ??”
In response, Entertainment Weekly wrote, “What happened to fun…”

Twitter takes a hit
Aisha Counts and Tom Maloney of Bloomberg News write Musk recently admitted Twitter is worth less than half of what he paid for it, but Kara Swisher says even 33% is “Still too high. The only thing that will save this is if it becomes a meme stock.”
Sure enough, Decca Muldowney of The Daily Beast reports new research from the Center For Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) shows Twitter is failing to remove 99% of hate speech posted by Twitter Blue users . I guess that $8 buys them the right to bigotry.?
Muldowney’s request for comment from Twitter was met with the Musk-standard poop emoji.
