“I know you. You’re the lady on the back of the bus.”
Anyone ever say that to you? Well, OK maybe you’re not on the back of a bus, but what about a billboard, real estate sign, or on your own business card or website.
Business people that hear it have their business portrait where people see it and they look like their business portrait or headshot.
I spent an hour today looking at headshots and business portraits on line. What I saw didn’t shock me. The more successful people I know had a professional image. Some others had no image at all. Some were using images that looked like their driver’s license or health card picture, or worse yet their passport. A few looked like screen shots from their computer camera.
There is a time and a place for those images, but let me ask you, how much effort do you put into your professional or corporate branding, and does your head shot add or subtract from that branding?
I challenge you to look at the people in your industry or profession that you admire most. What does their headshot or portrait look like? What kind of image do your mentors have? If you want to be like them, shouldn’t you act like them?
I can help. I’m John Mitchell, a storyteller, artist, and photographer. Right now you can save 25% on your headshot or portraits for business, but this sale isn’t going to last much longer. I started the conversation. Now the balls in your court. If you want to continue this discussion my phone number is 519.624.8460.
