“I know what to do, I just can’t seem to do it.”

“I know what to do, I just can’t seem to do it.”

How many of you can relate to this?

The diet and exercise world can be confusing and overwhelming at times and it can be hard to choose a diet that is enjoyable and one that delivers the results.

But I’d say that you lot pretty much know what you should be doing from a diet and exercise point of view.

You know that you should be making an effort to move your body daily and I’m sure you know that you are going to feel better eating whole foods than processed, calorific crap.

So why do people not seem to be able to do the stuff that they KNOW will move them towards their desired outcome?

1 - They don’t have a strong enough 'why'.

They are currently ‘getting away with it’ from a diet and exercise point of view. Sure, a bit of weight on the midriff and a little more sluggish than usual, but nothing to start ringing the alarm bells (they won’t be too far off in the future if nothing changes)

2 - They don’t have skin in the game.

Earlier this year I added over 200 men to a free Facebook group with ALL of best diet and workout information, plus a 14-day plan that would have guaranteed a minimum of 8lbs of weight loss.

How many actually did the program and acted on my guidelines and advice?

About 8 people.

People don’t tend to appreciate free shit. So when you pay, invest, get skin in the game, you show the world and yourself that you're serious about making changes.

3 - They don't have anyone to call on or anyone to answer to.

Having a person or a group of people to be accountable to is so frickin powerful. It keeps you on your toes and forces you to focus on what needs to be done. Having a coach to call on, to ask questions and get guidance on overcoming obstacles is a really good way to fast track your results.

If any of this resonates with you, comment below and let me know.

This is the same for business as it is for health and fitness goals. Accountability is everything, so you must choose your accountability partner wisely. Someone who will give you a kick when needed, will be able to fill in the gaps in your knowledge and most importantly someone you can trust. I've just finished listening to a great book by James Clear called Atomic Habits. There's always some way you can make a tiny change to make things just a little bit better every day.? Great post Jonny, thank you.
