I will just deliver those towels myself!

Working at the front desk in a hotel is not all smiles and pleasantries. Sometimes, you have to be a superhero and save the day for your guests. Like when they call you and ask for towels. Or pillows. Or toothbrushes. Or anything else they forgot to pack or ran out of. You see, when that happens, you have to grab a radio and hope that someone from housekeeping is listening. Then you have to relay the request and hope that they write it down and pass it on to someone else who can actually deliver the item. Some days you just cross your fingers and hope that it gets delivered before the guest loses their patience and calls you again. Or worse, comes down to the lobby and gives you a piece of their mind. Trust me, I’ve been there….many times. Sometimes, I just took matters into my own hands and ran to the nearest linen closet or storage room and got what the guest needed myself. It was faster and easier that way. But it was also exhausting and stressful.

I’ve also been on the other side of the phone, as a guest, waiting for something I needed and wondering why it was taking so long.
