I invite you to hear how Lean is used for improving the construction of CDOT’s New Headquarters Building

At the Colorado Department of Transportation, we employ the principles and practices of Lean to help make our products and services more effective, efficient, and customer-focused.

And, I am very pleased to let you know that our partners employ the principles and practices of Lean, too! Two of our partners, Chad Headlee from JE Dunn and Carl Hole from RNL Design, will be discussing how Lean principles and practices are being successfully used to improve the construction of the new CDOT Headquarters Building. Lean helps the Project Team stay informed, keep coordinated, and develop and implement improvements. Tools used by the Project Team include Last Planner System for Design; Target Value Design; “Pull”; and A3 Problem Solving.

Chad and Carl will be presenting to members of the Colorado Community of Practice of the Lean Construction Institute (LCI) on Friday morning, September 15 – more details are available by clicking here.

Exciting to see CDOT finally working towards resolving the building issue. Long overdue and so much more cost effective!
