I Hope You Dance...

I Hope You Dance...

In the year 2000, Lee Ann Womack released the recording of the song, “I Hope You Dance.”? The refrain went:

“…And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance!"

The financial and insurance professionals I work with usually seek me out because business has plateaued, and they tell me that either:

? They don't know what to do to get beyond the level of success they've already reached, and/or

? They DO know what to do, but believe that, for whatever reason, they can’t do it.

But often, the reality is they’ve stopped dancing.

Maybe they want to keep growing, but just not badly enough. ?Napoleon Hill said that to achieve anything of great significance, you need to possess a burning desire to make it happen.

Simply wanting something to happen isn't enough. Wanting it intenselyhaving a "burning desire" for itis a prerequisite for success that will get you around both of those obstacles. There’s a huge difference between wanting something and CHOOSING to go after it.

On the other hand, you can want something intensely, but if you don't truly believe it is possible for you to have it, you won't dance for it.

Mary Kay Ash, founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics, explained it succinctly:

"If you think you can, you can. And if you think you can't—you're right."

It’s really about tenacity—a willingness to keep dancing. If what you wanted out of your career—or your life—was the prize at the end of a dance marathon, would you be the last one still dancing? Or would you be exhausted by the effort, and choose at some point just to “sit it out”?

"I've tried doing seminars," an advisor named Larry blurted out during one of my workshops, while we were on the topic of useful marketing tools, "but they just don't work in my area."

"How many seminars have you tried?" I asked him. "One," he replied.

I got Larry to tell me that he hadn't spent a lot of money or time on his seminar, so he didn’t get many attendees. He also admitted that one of them did set an appointment with him after the seminar.

It was clear that Larry had just gotten the dance started when he decided to sit it out. Would he be saying the same thing after twelve seminars?

Often, what you want is harder for you to achieve than you want it to be. If you were on the African Savanah doing a rain dance, it will work every time if you dance… ‘til it rains. If you’re trying to be a “rainmaker”, you must continue to do your “rain dance”...until it rains. If you sit it out, it will be a long time until the dry season ends.

So, if you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance.

I can help you keep the dance going and figure out what the right steps are, but only if you reach out to me.? I’m willing to give you up to an hour of my time, on me, to talk about what you need to do to add $50 thousand or more to your gross income next year.? Message me.

And in the meantime, keep dancing, and keep REACHING...
