"I hope the Russians Love their Children too"
Like it was yesterday, I remember meeting Sting, the then, front man for the rock group, The Police,?in Johnstown, PA - it was decades ago.???I suspect none of us can consciously hold back on our perspectives regarding the conflict in Ukraine.?LinkedIn is essentially a platform for business specific narratives, as we all know and well should respect.?But we're now in a very different paradyne, one in which the lines have blurred between corporate aspirations, and those which espouse the proclivities of sovereignty and fundamental freedoms represented in the?wider global economy. Russia has regrettably, and proactively, recently removed itself from this community.?So, in this instance, I feel we need to break from LinkedIn convention as well.?Sting has courageously joined the cause thru his voice in music, and so should we...
The situation in Ukraine is systemic and global in both scope and consequence.??We're all well versed and aware off the ramifications and consequences of global enterprises in this?particular narrative.??We should be fully supportive, in respect to the historical freedoms and sovereignty of the Ukrainians?- those who have unequivocally lived under democratic?rule for over 30 years without question.??A former KGB madman (Putin), laying siege on a sovereign nation with unfounded and unwelcome aspiration to assimilate it into what was the former the Soviet Union, and consequently, precluding it from NATO membership is unwelcome. This, by both the majority of the Ukrainian people, and frankly,?the rest of the civilized world.?These facts remain undisputable.?No intelligent person could even support a rebuttal of this position given the current global proclivities for peace, democracy, and sovereignty we all espouse to on this planet, let alone the barbaric nature of the unprovoked attacks on these these people we have witnessed over the past 3 weeks.??
The Russian Army - those few captured as POW's as a result of this unprovoked military action,?do not understand why they are waging war during this offensive on Ukraine, and, more importantly, are understandably concerned that any fall-back or renouncement of this unprovoked action will likely result with their immediate execution from their own military superiors beholden to Putin.?This is indicative of a former fascist regime leader who brainwashed military conscripts into military service in the late 1930's.?Hopefully, they will all duly reject the obvious insanity of their senseless mission.??Where does this, then, leave the position of Ukraine's Western allies remains a mystery.?May we all fall in the right side of history. One need only to look back to the 1917's to draw a?historical perspectives.??A global pandemic, a emerging narrative on the 1st?World War , and a rejection on the then current?oligarchy?legacy, ultimately resulting in the Russian revolution.?History repeating itself a century later.? Have we learned nothing??And should we not aspire to do better now?
