I have vMotion-ed to set 'Data in Motion'

Hello all

Are you wondering about the connection between vMotion, Data in Motion, and an animation of a spacecraft? I have decided to explore a different technology and a different domain.

Reminiscence: I still remember the day when I chose VMware...

Just as the placement season began, I was working on my preferences based on my profile which is a combo of Engineering Degree + Tech experience at Zoho + PGD in Industrial Engineering. The hard part was to decide if I should choose a technical role that I love and enjoy or a Business role that I learnt at NITIE. VMware's Solution Engineer was a perfect choice as it is a Techno-commercial role. With everyone's blessings, I made it into VMware, where the journey of 4.5+ years was nothing less than marvelous.

Grateful for my past

I sincerely thank the leaders, managers, mentors and well-wishers at VMware. Thanks to all the customers and partners I worked with during my tenure.

In the past few weeks, I spoke with multiple of them. I realized that I built a lot of connections beyond business and work... I will keep in touch with as many as possible. Thank you all...

The Next Chapter at Confluent

Today, I joined Confluent as a Solutions Engineer based out of Bengaluru.. Confluent has a Data platform that makes it easy to connect your apps, data systems, and entire organization with real-time data flows and processing. Read more at Confluent.io. Most of the technology is new to me and I will be learning a lot. I am very excited and awaiting to collaborate with new people, teams, technology partners, and customers.

The Logic behind the Cover Image and the Title

Being an ardent fan of Space tech, I got a chance to use one of the space tech concepts to convey this news. I consider my move as that spacecraft's journey from Earth (VMware) to Mars (Confluent). To make it more relevant, I used terms related to both companies.

vMotion = VMware's technology that moves Virtual Machines from one server to another
Data in Motion = Confluent is building the foundational platform for data in motion so any organization can innovate and win in a digital-first world.

That's how I came up with the title.

P.S: Techies, I was not strict on the definition of vMotion. I Just considered the 'move' aspect of vMotion.

Congratulations & Best wishes ! Regarding This animation, orbit of Earth and Mars are not circular.?
