I have never had a flu vaccination
But I will get a COVID-19 jab as soon as I am eligible. My choice around annual protection from the flu is about me. My choice about COVID-19 vaccination isn’t.
A number of loved ones in my life fit the most “vulnerable” profile, if they develop COVID-19 it could have a devastating impact on their health. I want to ensure I take every step that I can to prevent them contracting this lethal disease.
So if you’re contemplating the need to vaccinate, remember in this case it’s not just about you.
PS please don’t let me discourage you from getting your annual flu shot!

3 年I have to say I get the flu shot every year. Not just for me but for my love ones. I was also fortunate to get the Moderna vaccine, and on Friday it will be 2 weeks since my final dose. Still plan on wearing my mask to keep those not vaccinated safe. I am sure there will be a boster for COVID 19 as well as the flu every year and every year I will roll up my sleeve. Big thanks to science who showed when push comes to shove they got it done! Science always wins.

This is much more around keeping our loved ones, and the community safe...w/o getting political, we have seen examples around the world where a sense of community (we are all in this together) has meant good compliance with gov advice around social distancing/mask wearing, etc as well as good uptake of vaccination. We have also seen the devastating impact of where the rights of the individual are used as an excuse to push back against expert medical/scientific advice w/o any concern for anyone else !!

3 年I have had Influenza twice in my life and wouldn't wish it on anyone. It is devastating. So I have had the annual Flu Vaccine annually with great confidence for a number of years, with the next one this week.I will be lining up with equal confidence for the Covid-19 vaccine and thank all those who have made it possible.
