I have finally accepted that I am an expert at consistency, and here is why that surprises me.

I have finally accepted that I am an expert at consistency, and here is why that surprises me.

Consistency. The number of times people roll their eyes when I mention that word - I would really be a TRILLIONAIRE if I banked a dollar for every time.

I define it as “daily actionable steps over time”. No matter what it is that you are doing. You are doing something, regardless of volume. Something. Over time.

It sounds pretty simple, huh?

Well, it is not. In fact, it has been scientifically proven that only 8 percent of people who set goals at the start of the year actually achieve them. That's 92 percent who give up on their goals*. One reason is that they lack consistency.?

More specifically, they do not show up every day.

In my 9.5 years of business, I have been able to master consistency as I credit consistency to the results i have achieved. I credit consistency to the way my life has changed. I know consistency has played a huge role in shaping the version I am today.

Here are 4 major learnings I have accepted in becoming the Consistency Queen:

  1. Daily Actionable Steps, every day.?

Consistency works well went you apply yourself every day. It is not about massive all-nighters. Consistency is not about 24/7 non-stop action. It is about taking intentional, deliberate action every day. For me, I block my time and take action in that time.? I don’t apologise for that. My calendar is the key to being consistent. Now, there are times when I have worked long hours, but this is not part of my system - it is the exception, not the rule. In saying that, I am not afraid of hard work, and I have a level of curiosity around why people just don’t want to work hard towards something that would radically change thier life.?

  1. You can’t be looking for the result, you have to be the person who achieve’s the result, first:

This is where most people who first start in business don’t do well. They assume starting a business is like having a job. You can just show up at any energetic level and still get paid. Even moreso, if you miss out on things or you are not happy, you either complain or quit.

When you own your own business, the buck stops with you. You are the face of your company. You are the message and the energy too. The key to achieving all your results is becoming the version who achieves that results.

You need to embody the habits, the thoughts, the behaviours of people who ahicve your desired results. A good way to check is to look at your mentors or high-profile coaches/mentors and assess how they build their business.. What are they reading? How are they showing up? What do they give focus to? What standards do they to the rise to every day?

The key thing is to apply yourself consistently. Start off small and “act as if”. Over time, your actions will come with less resistance and you will lean into the activity.?

If you keep “looking for the result, you are going to struggle.

  1. Your Progress is Not Linear

All progress is progress. Even progress that appears to be going backwards. I say this because with any dip or decline you will experience breakthroughs, or a new perspective and even a new way of doing things. These are lessons - information you need to get you to the other side.

Lesson are sometimes hard to accept, but they are necessary for our growth and elevation.

Without them, you cannot become the version you are today.

Accept that you journey will have wins, losses and unexpected challenges. You will meet incredible new people, you will lose clients and some people you will never do business with. They all play a part in your evolution.

The key is that despite the journey not being linear, you still need to show up. You show up like you? are a magician and you are here to change the world - no matter how much broo-haha is happening around you.

You need to be committed and enthusiastic on day 1165 even when the world appears to be crashing, just like you were on Day One - that right. Consistently

  1. Your success may appear overnight, but it was really over time.

When you show up daily, with intentional effort, and you do the work,? you will become?

consistent.?

What will happen is that the more you apply yourself, the better you will become.?

You will begin to embody your actions. That is, they become an extension of you.

The more you continue, the more your daily efforts will stack. Like you are stacking on Lego Bricks, you are?

setting the foundation for your business.?

At some point, those efforts will accelerate, and you then experience the compound effort - which is the Acceleration. These are the daily actionable steps over time and consistently, multiplied from efforts stacked on.?

One day, you will achieve results you never thought possible - yet you experience the results because your work prior to that point got you there.

Consistency is not hard - it is actually simple to implement. You simply repeat an action every day.? People make it hard because they are not patient enough to see the results.

They want the results now. The mistake they make is they quit when they are 3 feet from gold. They switch strategies when they are making progress, and rather than double? down on their focus and efforts, they fall for the fast and easy strategy, which is short-term thinking.

Long-term, sustainable success means a commitment to excellence.

You can achieve excellence through mastery of skills, and that requires consistency, and a commitment to be excellent. You won’t get there if you keep introducing new things, switching stratgies or give up simply because you don’t see the results.

Consistency is quite simple to implement, which is why I am surprised most people don’t achieve their goals. The reason why I am part of the 8 per cent is that I know how to pull my potential out of myself.

I can hold myself accountable, and if I am ever unsure about an application, I hire a coach. Not just any coach. The best in their field. The “go-to”. I am my number one asset so I will always invest in what will help bring the best out of me.

I am often asked how my results have eventuated. I always reply, “Motivation is what got me started, but consistency is what got me here."
