I have BIG news!

As many of you know, Jason has spent tireless hours over the past 11 years building and growing DGR Systems into a premier Microsoft Gold Consulting Services company. As the next chapter in that effort I have decided that my next professional move will be to join the company as the CEO. Our first order of business will be to revamp the very outdated website to better reflect our current capabilities. Additionally, we are beginning our certification process to register as a Women Owned and Operated Small Business. I’m super excited for this new challenge!  

BUT (and there’s always a but) that’s not the actual BIG news. While getting up to speed at DGR, writing bylaws for Genuine Human and keeping up with our now 5 mo. old miracle daughter, I have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Yes! You heard that right. “What the …” you may reply. “Didn’t you already beat cancer once?” Yes, but the price of success to what cured my Lymphoma is that twenty years post treatment, patients are highly susceptible to developing breast cancer. So there you have it, I’m a statistic. 

Thank God it was found early by my physician during a normal appt and I “coincidentally” had a mammogram already scheduled for the following day. A biopsy two days later confirmed Grade 3, ER/PR-, HER2+ breast cancer. Surgery, chemotherapy, reconstruction, and immunotherapy are the cards in my hand to beat this, and we are currently working out how to play them over the next twelve months. 

I plan to remain active and engaged in normal life, work, charity, and motherhood. In the meantime, our family thanks all of you for the support and prayers that have been shown over the past few weeks. We couldn’t do any of this without our tribe. Thank you all.
