I have Asperger's, and its good to know...

Hi, I am Matt. I have Asperger's (or Autism Spectrum Level 1). I was diagnosed at age of 12 in 2003 just on time for starting high school. I will share you an experience what is like in my shoes as a social entrepreneur, public speaker, sports nut, community leader and environmental nerd living with Asperger's.

Two biggest things are not at my strength are social communication and reading body language. I see the social world is very complex to me, and it very difficult for me to navigate. Its stressful and tiring while trying to find out what it means, and to understand.

I had familiar intellectual challenges as a person with slow language processing disorder, which that affected my speech and written grammar. it is how I hear and see. I also have a hearing loss. That adds an extra barrier.

Speaking up how I feel enabled me to help people to understand who I am. That is an important value of me. The society may, or may not able to improve but it will get better experience for me if we all are patience with each others. It is a hard road ahead of me. I am working towards being a CEO of the organisation I run, and continue spending my energy towards environmental and inclusive communities.
