I hate scammers.
I hate scammers. Just had a call from a bloke claiming to be from GoDaddy, and offering me a special corporate deal to extend domain registrations for 4 more years for only $1.99. If this was legit, it would be a good deal and he made it sound legit. The confirmation email he sent looked dodgy, and when he said the special offer was only able to be processed if I gave him my credit card details over the phone, the smell of the scam got to be way too much.
There are a lot of dodgy buggers out there. If something smells like a scam and looks like a scam, it probably is a scam. 'Too good to be true' usually is just that. Not true.
And FYI, the dodgy bloke was using the name Jordan O’brien. With the phone number (02) 8091 2513. He claimed to be a Sales Executive with GoDaddy LLC, and was using the email address [email protected].
Afterwards, I called GoDaddy to report it... turns out it happens a lot. The nice man at GoDaddy said the scammer probably just wanted my credit card so he could go on a shopping spree. Yep. I did guess that already. Anyways, the number of Dodgy Buggers is growing rapidly. They come in all shapes and sizes. Please be careful. They can be very convincing. It's easy to be conned...

8 年Thanks Richard for your email. I just had a eerily similar conversation with the same Jordan O'Brien, but from Australia. I gave him a very cold shoulder and said I would not be giving him my credit card details. What a loser.
