My Experience Using ChatGPT

The overall process of using ChatGPT was, honestly, very easy to setup. With a minimal prompt, it can spit out an entire blog post in a matter of seconds. For this article, I gave ChatGPT the following prompt: "Can you write a blog post about the use of generative AI in digital marketing? How is generative AI helpful or not helpful for digital marketing? This article should sound like it was written by a college student." and shortly after pressing enter, I was given a fully written blog. I can totally see why so many people use ChatGPT and why it has gotten so popular within the last few years! The ease of use makes it quite useful, and there are what seem to be endless possibilities.

My Thoughts on How it Performed

The result I got from ChatGPT surprised me. I honestly was not expecting to get much. The writing could have definitely been a little better as far as writing style and the quality of content it produced. The writing sounds quite direct and doesn't portray much personality, unfortunately. The material it wrote was a bit vague and did not go into much detail. I think it could have been helpful if it gave some examples to back up what it was saying. In general, the material it wrote was decent! I think for a basic write-up, ChatGPT can be a valuable tool, but in circumstances where in-depth research is needed, I would recommend people not use ChatGPT as it may give incorrect or outdated information.

Digital Marketing and its Future With AI

ChatGPT is relatively new and is quickly getting better as the years go by. I think there will be a time when ChatGPT becomes a commonly used tool among professionals, but in the meantime, I think it still has a lot of room to grow before it is reliable. One thing that can help exponentially to receive the best possible output from ChatGPT is to give it a well thought out and detailed prompt. If it isn't given much to work off of, it is going to put together something that may ultimately be incorrect or different from what you were hoping to see. With a little practice and the right prompt, I think ChatGPT can be a useful tool to use with a grain of salt. In the meantime, if you are going to use ChatGPT, make sure you double check its work and go into it knowing you may not get what you are wanting.
