Got My Second Shot of China's Sinopharm COVID-19 Vaccine Yesterday ! How Do I Feel ?

Yesterday, I got my second shot of COVID-19 vaccine in a vaccine distribution site set up in a massive exhibition center. It’s well organized, and the medical workers sent by a local hospital are very professional, and people wearing masks wait in line with a signed consent for vaccine. What I got is China’s Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine, which’s approved by The World Health Organization for emergency use last Friday. By the way, it is the first vaccine developed by a non-Western country to receive the WHO’s greenlight, and it has already been administered to millions across the world.

I felt totally fine after my first shot of vaccine, but people say that side effects after your second shot may be a bit more intense than the ones you experienced after your first shot. However, after 24 hours, just as I felt after my first shot, I just experience a bit soreness in my arm, a commonly known side effect, and maybe a bit sleepy as well, but so far, so good. Although China handles the COVID-19 pretty well, there’re still new imported cases every day, and the virus is constantly mutating very fast around the world. Psychologically, I feel somewhat liberated with two doses of COVID-19 vaccine in my body system, but for the safety of my family, friends, colleagues, and anyone else around me, I will definitely continue to wear a mask.

Besides, countries like the US is approaching 46% percent of its total population having received the vaccine, while it is only 20% here in China, still pretty low, although the government has been ramping up the vaccine rollout across the country. Apparently, we still have a lot work to do in order to reach herd immunity, especially considering we have a population of 1.41 billion.
