Now for this week's content...
Visibility:- This is the answer to all your problems when it comes to attracting leads, being seen, being recognised as the expert, growing your personal brand, getting noticed, standing out!
I know, it can't be that simple can it?
Yep - it can and it is. And here's the amazing thing. LinkedIn makes it really easy, simple and effective for you to be VISIBLE. To be SEEN. To be RECOGNISED.
And one of those ways has been a game-changer for many LinkedIn users, especially if you're utilising it...
But before we talk about this specific feature, I want to address the point about 'UTILISATION'.
I like to consider myself an EARLY ADOPTER. I'm the person, when it comes to LinkedIn Marketing and infact any form of marketing, when something new is out - I want to get in early. I want access ASAP and when I don't get it...honestly, I am most definitely #FOMO
I want it; why don't I have it yet? How can I get it?...This is me all over so what I do is look at different ways I can get in front of it. When #LinkedInAudio was launched - and rolled out to 2-300 Content Creators approved by LinkedIn's Creator Community.
I was not (am not YET) part of it. (Don't worry, am working on it). So what did I do instead?
Luckily, because of my years of connecting and building relationships on LinkedIn - I have met some great people. Some of whom did have access to the Audio feature.
Result? I was invited to speak on panels on the Audio platform as a speaker. Joined hosts of the different Audio events and made myself known. Made myself VISIBLE and as a result - increased followers. Whist at the same time - experiencing what it was like to be in a LinkedIn Audio room and apply some of the features
Which means, when LinkedIn Audio is released to me - I'll already be in the know and can jump into using it without having to learn it from scratch!
You have got to find a way to UTILISE the features in the best way you can. I did the same with LinkedIn Lives, Carousel Posts, LinkedIn Stories and so on and so forth...
LinkedIn Newsletter: That's why when they released the Newsletter Feature...'I was on it like a car bonnet'
So here's how you can use LinkedIn Newsletters to get more eyeballs on you.
So, just incase you're not sure, the Newsletter Feature is housed on the LinkedIn Blog Publishing Platform which you can easily find by clicking on 'Write an Article'. This then takes you into the platform to start the Newsletter process...
CREATE: Start by clicking on Create a Newsletter and create the framework for your newsletter. Decide on an awesome name. My one tip here: it should say what it does/provides on the tin. So try not to be clever. Each time they see it, your audience should know what they'll get from it. Hence why my newsletter is calls Leads from Linkedin. Then decide on a frequency and of course a thumbnail and a short description. In one sentence, telling them succinctly what they will get from reading it
CONSISTENCY: So let's look at when in the week to write it. I'm not too bothered about the day but consistency is key. You have a choice; daily weekly, fortnightly or monthly. My advice: choose a frequency you know you can keep up with. The last thing you want is to say 'weekly' and find that you're not able to stay on track. Consistency doesn't have to be daily or weekly. It's whatever time frequency suits you
CREATIVE: Brand your Newsletter Header in a way that people recognise it's from you again. So whether that be a logo or brand colours - ensure this is consistent every week. And here's the beauty of a great header. Remember, when you publish your very FIRST newsletter, every 1st tier connection in your network gets an invitation to subscribe! Then every newsletter thereafter, will land in the personal email inboxes - yes that's right - their actual email inbox. So by having a creative and branded header - when it lands in someone's inbox - it STANDS out - amongst the flurry of boring emails that they normally get
COMPEL: Your headline needs to COMPEL them to want to read the newsletter as a piece of engaging content. Your headline can make a huge difference as to whether they click on to read more.
CATCHY: Make your newsletters eye-catching! Add videos, memes and/or scroll stopping pictures so that it's not just realms of text all bunched up together. Space it out, add sub-headings and include visuals.
Newsletters have the power to increase views on your content 10-fold. The mere fact that it lands in your subscribers own email inbox - is game-changing. Plus the fact LinkedIn gives you so many ways to promote it so you can continue to attract subscribers
In addition to it being shared on your newsfeed when you publish it, you can also add the subscribe button on your Featured section; you can then feature weekly editions on it too. You can copy the link and share it on other social media platforms. Share it in your group and your company page. Have it as a CTA in your profile video or name pronunciation
And if the content is relevant for some of your connections, start conversations by sharing it with them personally.
So - if you haven't done it already - get on it. It's ability to appear on searches is hugely beneficial and your blogs do not need to be housed anywhere else - other than LinkedIn
I'd love to hear from you on how Newsletters have helped you OR if you haven't yet - how do you feel now - that you've read this article. Comment below and let me know...
Happy Friday
