I got the Job Yay!

A shout out to this young lady by the name of Jade; I got a job through her. A position I took on with the unwavering belief that it was the best opportunity of my lifetime. 

When I first heard the news, I was ecstatic... so many expectations, I could hardly contain myself.

As the euphoria dwindled, I experienced legitimate concerns for the unknowns.

It was a new role for me, new responsibilities, with no standard operating procedure to guide me, I was on my own trying to figure it out.

All I knew then was that I wanted it and that I was going to do everything in my power to outperform everyone's expectations. However, with anything new comes the fear of change, anxiety, and inevitably self-doubt can creep in eroding any confidence one has. I was no exception.

I asked my self:

• Was I fully prepared for what was coming?
• Did I have the necessary knowledge, competencies, and skills to meet the new challenges?
• Becoming part of a new team, how would it change my life?

Even though it came with no wages, 24-hour shifts for 365 days and no end date, I wanted it.

... Thirty years later I can confirm, it is the best job I have held and still hold today.

Jade's MOTHER

I am the proud mom of US ARMY veteran soldier Jade Lopez and US Airman Cristina Lopez.

I became a mother twice, and although the role and challenges have changed throughout the years, it has been the most significant role of my life. Well, that is, until I became a grandmother to Tatiana, Andrea, Ace, and forever baby Ava (Rest in Peace).

Only a week away, I wish each and every day, to all the moms in the world, a happy Mother's Day!
