I Got Everything That I Really Needed
I do not know who wrote this verse but Marina Filimianova shared it in the comment section of one of my articles. I thought it is so elegantly written that I should share with you all in this difficult time. I hope you would find it meaningful regardless of your faith, belief or culture.
I asked God to give me strength
and He gave me difficulties to overcome
I asked for wisdom,
and He gave me problems to learn to solve them
I asked for financial abundance,
and He gave me ability to work.
I asked for courage,
and He gave me dangers to overcome.
I asked for love,
and He gave me troubled people to help.
I asked for favors,
and He gave me opportunities to exploit.
From what I asked for, I got nothing
Nothing of what I wanted.
But I got everything,
Everything that I really needed.
My prayer was heard!

4 年Great Post! I can very much relate. A lot of times we want the easy, quick fix solutions. But without the test, there is no testimony. And it's often the journey and the process that builds our character into what it is that we asked for. Without the character building phase, we wouldn't have the skills necessary to sustain and appreciate what we prayed for.
