Do you keep thinking that inspire of having so many connections, whenever you post views are so less on your article or posts?
Is the content not engaging? Or Is there any mistake you are making?
LinkedIn has made a big update to its News Feed Algorithm and in this Article. I will explain what they changed and 3 tactical hacks that you can start using today to maximize the visibility of your posts on the LinkedIn news feed.
According to Pete Davies, who is Linkedin’s Senior Director of Product management the LinkedIn algorithm is able to understand what are the most valuable conversation to users and that is how it decides whether it will or won’t show your post to your connections and in what order.
Now the way that the LinkedIn algorithm determines this is with a framework they have come to call: People You Know, Talking About Things You Care About.
We can translate that framework into one word: "Relevance"
So for example, if you and I connected on LinkedIn and we have never engaged with each other’s content then we probably are not too relevant to each other.
On the other hand, let’s say that we work at the same company and once or twice a week I comment on your posts then that signals to the LinkedIn algorithm that there is High Relevance between you and I.
Now before the update to the LinkedIn Algorithm the old way that your posts would rank was that it would calculate the probability that someone would engage with your content, so if it thought that more users would like, comment, or share then it would basically show it to more people.
This was a bit flawed and they decided to change it and with those changes
There are 3 specific actions that you can use today to hack your ranking and if you have already tried any of these I would love to hear your feedback in the comments below.
1. Specificity
Publish posts with specific topics vs. broad. LinkedIn says that they consistently see from their data that specific topics outperform broad ones so instead of talking about a general subject like Marketing & Content you can be more specific and hone in on Digital Marketing & Growth Hacking with are subtopics within the domain of Marketing & Content.

Being just specific in content, and not revolving around multiple topics is the Key.
2. Questions
Always ask for the opinion of others within your post to encourage conversation as all social platforms weight comments as one of the highest indicators of engagement, except YouTube, to YouTube, it is more important how long someone watches your video than actual comments, but for the rest of the landscape including LinkedIn, you will find that the content that gets the most comments has the highest about of viewership and tends to live longer on the news feed. So a simple way to do this is by asking your audience their thoughts and it can be a simple “do you agree or disagree”?.
Example: Click Here
Ask Some Engaging Questions which may create curiosity amongst people to reply or search for an Answer
3. Hashtags
Use hashtags, as the algorithm uses many intent signals to rank content, including hashtags "Pete Davies says he recommends using hashtags, but to keep the number of hashtags included in a post at three or less". So if you have been hashtag bombing your posts, please stop that – it isn’t helping you and it’s possibly hurting your performance.
Ok, so I know a lot of people think that because Facebook prioritizes video in their feeds that other platforms do the same, which is true because Instagram also does but when it comes to LinkedIn that is not the case. The LinkedIn algorithm actually prioritizes every piece of content equally so really the important thing is creating good content that gets others to engage in the conversation regardless if it is a video or a simple text post.
Example: Click Here
Make sure to use ONLY Relevant Hashtags to the content in post not just abrubtly.
Another tip is to always tag/mention others when appropriate and responds to your comments as both of those actions send positive signals to the LinkedIn algorithm further helping you dominate the news feed with your content.
So, from now on always remember these 3 tactics to increase post views and get trending on LinkedIn. For any queries, I am just a ping away !!
