One thing I am very aware of is the profound requirement for hardcore processor performance when considering Centralized Baseband processing. Currently all vendors are wary to commit to evolving towards COTS architecture for Cloud Baseband processing. The reason? generic COTS architecture is simply far too slow and inefficient.
