Last week, I finally got my hands on Starlink. You know that moment when you’re expecting a game-changer to arrive? That’s what it felt like. I’d been dealing with erratic internet for too long, and as someone who has eight intense coaching sessions a day, reliable connectivity isn't just a luxury; it’s a lifeline.
Setting up Starlink wasn’t just about improving my internet speed; it felt symbolic. It was about breaking free from the limitations that had been holding me back, just like the work I do with my clients. Career growth coaching is all about helping people overcome the barriers that keep them stuck—whether it's lack of confidence, unclear goals, or the fear of stepping into new roles. Starlink, in its way, represented that shift. It was a tangible reminder of what happens when you invest in the tools that propel you forward, whether in technology or in your career.
Over the past few months, the number of coaching sessions has skyrocketed. It’s been incredible and exhausting all at once. But every time I hear the breakthroughs my clients are making, I know why I do it. Just the other day, a client I’d been working with for months secured a regional leadership role that she’d been chasing for years. And another, a CEO position at a major Kenyan parastatal—a role he had never imagined he’d be considered for, let alone get. These wins, like the boost in my internet speed, are what keep the momentum going.

And here’s the thing—investing in your career isn’t much different from investing in reliable internet. Just like you wouldn’t want to be caught with a buffering screen in the middle of a critical Zoom meeting, you don’t want to be caught unprepared when career opportunities knock. A career growth coach helps you buffer-proof your career, making sure you’re ready to seize every opportunity with clarity and confidence.
The last week has been a whirlwind, balancing the joys of fast internet with the even bigger joys of watching my clients thrive. The lessons I’ve learned from both are strikingly similar: invest in yourself, and don’t be afraid to step into something new, even if it’s disruptive.
For those who are thinking about taking that step in their careers, I’d say now is the time. Just like Starlink isn’t waiting for the old systems to catch up, you shouldn’t wait for the perfect moment to invest in your career growth. If you’re ready to take that leap, I’d love to help guide you through it. You can book a session with me using [this link](https://calendly.com/emakokha2005/30min?month=2024-08 ), and let’s see how we can accelerate your career just like Starlink has accelerated my internet. It’s all about connection—whether it’s to the web or to your potential.
