I felt I needed to share this with you! A lesson learned.

I wanted to drop into your space this afternoon to share something that happened to me earlier in the week which got me thinking about how you would have managed!

I decided, whilst queuing to see the Queen laying in state last week to live stream to my Instagram community a little update about how the queuing was going and my experience so far whilst waiting.

Whilst I was on the live stream, someone who joined the live stream as a viewer wrote a comment insinuating that I was only live streaming for the social media views and followers and that this didn't fit in with my strategy!!!!

So, here is my reply to this comment:

My strategy has nothing to do with my viewers, it's about showing up when I wish, where I wish to share whatever I wish with whoever is attracted to the live stream or update.

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know I share updates about work, my home, myself and my sport with my audience so that they get to know, like and trust me as a person that they may want to work with, when I do promote my offers.

Now, this comment did throw me off my train of thought for a bit whilst I was live however, as a seasoned live streamer, I just told them the truth and moved on with my update...

But, I realise now, that this might not have been so easy for you so, here are a few tips to help you cope with unwanted comments from live viewers

  1. If you can, write some notes down about what you are going to be speaking about so that if you are distracted, you can quickly refer to them to stay on track
  2. You share what you feel will energise, attract and elevate your audience and don't be put off or guided by others.
  3. You do not have to do what everyone else is doing, the more uniquely you that you are, the more you will connect with the audience who connects with you
  4. Be the pineapple in the room and stand out, share your own unique essence and don't let anyone tell you any different

One of my viewers messaged me after the live stream and said how grateful she was that I had done it as she too was planning on going to see the Queen in state and this had helped her know what to expect and how to prepare for the long wait.

She also wrote this 'I could have swung for that twit going "have you just gone to put it on social media" What an arsehole!!' ??

You see, when you grow an engaged loyal following, they will always have your back, so my lesson to you all this sunny Friday afternoon is

'Be your own unique self, share your own magic and don't let anyone influence the way you do things, because you know how to show up, just follow your intuition and the world is your oyster'

Have an amazing week my friends

Much love

It was great and fun watching you go live from the infamous queue. Just wished I could have queued myself.
