"I feel like I'm imposing on my clients to ask them for a testimonial. Plus what if they say something bad about me?"

Question from a subscriber: "I feel like I'm imposing on my clients to ask them for a testimonial. Plus what if they say something bad about me?"
The other day, I got some scathingly negative feedback and I was whining to Antonio.
"Waaa waaa waaa, Antonio they were mean to me, you're my man, protect me, waa waa waa."
And he says this back.
"Babe, would you rather have them think it, and not tell you?"
It made me pause and ask myself:
"How can I have any integrity if I'm not in total alignment with what people want?"
"How well can I understand what I truly do for people, if I don't see things from their perspective?"
"How strong can my relationships be, if I'm not fully aware of whether or not it actually works for the other person?"
?
Take these actions TODAY:
?
Every time you ask for feedback, you strengthen your relationship with someone - no matter what the result is.
It's not an imposition - it's a gift to them as well. It is a benefit to them when they go through the exercise of thinking about your relationship and what they are getting out of it.
Be open to the truth! Whether or not you acknowledge it, it still determines the course of things.

You don't have to worry about a negative testimonial on LinkedIn. Before the testimonial is published, LinkedIn sends it to you. You can reach out to the person who provided the testimonial and ask them to change it or edit it. I have never done this, but it is an option. So you should not have any worries about a negative testimonial appearing on LinkedIn. Dr. Donald Moine
