I Fall For Autumn

This time of the year I always remember the poem that Graeme Edge of the Moody Blues wrote to describe autumn. His description fits our fall here in Colorado and throughout the country. His poem is called The Dream.
When the white eagle of the North
Is flying over head
And the browns, reds and golds of autumn
Lie in the gutter dead
Remember then the summer birds
With wings of fire flaying
Come to witness spring’s new hope
Born of leaves decaying
As new life comes from death
Love will come with leisure
Love of love, love of life
And giving without measure
Gives in return a wondrous yearn
Of a promise almost seen
Live hand-in-hand
And together we will stand
On a threshold of a dream…
To many times we do not take the time to look around and see what is happening in nature. The white eagle of the north are the snow clouds that are coming. This past week we received snow both the mountains as well as on the plains of Colorado. We still have green trees along with trees that have turned brown, red, and gold that are literally blowing off the trees in preparation for the coming snow. The air is crisp and cool and it foretells of the cold fronts that will drive down from the Canada.
We get wrapped up in our day to day life and do not take notice of that is happening outside and around us. It is football season, the end of baseball, and ski season is just around the corner, in fact one of the ski resorts have opened here in Colorado and all the skiers are off to enjoy the snow in the mountains.
The Moody Blues gives us insight into our seasons and it is up to each of us to see what is around us and appreciate our environment. So take a look around and see the beauty that we do not often take time to view.
