I DUE TIMIDI

MITO 2019-edition https://www.mitosettembremusica.it/it has just ended and already the onlus xMITO https://www.xmito.org/ is activated (perhaps it has never stopped...) to spread the love for classical music in the most timid, unconventional meanderings of the cities: social centers , houses of welcome, courtyards.

... and timid in a courtyard are the protagonists of the work of Nino Rota with libretto by Suso Cecchi D'Amico: "I due timidi".

Of the two authors of the piece, famous names of Italian cinema (moreover of the cinema of the golden times!) It is difficult to say something that is not banal repetition, for example of a list of prizes as Nastro d'argento, BAFTA, Golden Globe and then the Oscar for the soundtrack of the Godfather Part II (1974) for Nino Rota. Three David di Donatello, seven Nastro d'argento and the career-Leone d'oro for Suso Cecchi D'Amico.

I feel I can only emphasize the fact that both have left a sign on Italian cinema production unavoidable for those who followed, perhaps even bulky in many respects.

In any case, I Due Timidi is certainly in the artistic production of D'Amico and Rota a minor work but in my experience every work, however minimal, produced by talented, tireless and generous people in the search for authenticity in their creations, deserves my attention .

I witnessed with pleasure and amusement the small facts (but decisive for their destinies) occurred to a humanity depicted with keen and intelligent empathy.
