I don't wanna!
Thursday 8/1/19...
Last night was fun, but I'm paying for it now. I'd love to take the morning off, but that's not happening. I don't want to go for my run more than anything, so I'm going to make myself.
My buddy Jeff came to visit yesterday on his way through town. He got here before 7pm, so we grilled up some food, drank some beers, hung out, and played some video games. I don't get to see him often, so I wanted to make the best of it regardless of having to work today. However, that goes with waking up early like oil and water. Trust me, I'm living it as we speak!
I don't want to go for my run. I didn't want to write this post. And I sure as hell didn't want to wake up at 6am. And that one I actually compromised on! I gave myself an extra 45 mins on the alarm this morning because sleep is important. But here's the thing about those moments when you REALLY just don't wanna - that's when it matters most.
So much of what we do requires mental fortitude. So when you're really just not feeling it, that's when you've got to bite the bullet and push on through. You'll be happy once you have because it was that much more of a feat to overcome. Half the battle is just showing up.
And here's the thing, I don't even run that much, maybe a mile and a half tops. But I make this run, every. Single. Day! Consistency trumps all. Show up and put in the work daily. Results guaranteed.
But when you give in to that feeling of I just don't wanna, you break the habit. It becomes easier to say no or give up again next time. It makes it easier to miss out on achieving your goals or living the life you want. But you only deserve that life if you show up and put in the work.
So next time you get that feeling - when that idea pops into your mind - it wouldn't be so bad, right? Fuck your ' I don't wanna' and you'll be glad in the end!

This is an entry from my personal daily journal. I recently left the 9-5 to work for myself - something I've dreamed of for as long as I can remember. It's my hope that these posts inspire anyone looking to do the same or shed some light on what this journey is really like.
