I Don't Take Calls From Recruiters!

Unfortunately, It’s common practice for Recruiters, Headhunters, Talent Acquisition, & Executive Search professionals (whatever you’d like to call us) to blindly fling resumes at hiring managers hoping that something sticks. They’ve abandoned efficiency and a value-centric service, and adopted a transactional mindset that prioritizes quantity over quality.
When I got into this business, I was told that recruitment was a numbers game. In other words, the more resumes you send, the greater your odds of filling the position. True to some extent, but I’ve come to realize from experience and time in the profession, that we are in the people business.
The better you treat people, the more rewarding your experience will be. Some of my best experiences as a recruiter have come with people I was not able to place. Recruiters - don’t focus on making more calls or hitting quotas!!
Desperation can normally be sniffed out and it seldom yields positive results. Instead, focus on developing meaningful relationships based on transparency and following through on what you said you would do.
