I don't know how you do it all

I don't know how you do it all

I really don't.

I watched a programme the other week where the lead character wrote down every single job or chore she did during a week to show her husband everything she did while he was at work.?

This got me thinking.?

If a teacher and studio owner wrote down everything they do in one day, would people be surprised??

Would a list look something like:

  • Sent out 5 payment reminders
  • Emailed sheet music to 3 online students to print off ready for their lessons
  • Created backup plans for those students who will inevitably forget to print out their new pieces
  • Searched for a new piece for a particularly picky student (which always takes longer than it should)
  • Printed out a new game
  • Replied to an email from someone asking for lessons who doesn’t have a piano at home
  • Replied to a message from a student who’s decided to stop lessons because they “just don’t have time”
  • Posted piano lesson ads on Facebook
  • Posted on the studio’s socials
  • Sorted out two students who are needing to change lesson day for the next few weeks
  • Searched for recital programme and certificate templates
  • Started customising the programmes and certificates
  • Sent 4 reminder messages to parents asking them to RSVP to the recital
  • Replied to a message from a student cancelling their lesson and asking for a makeup lesson
  • Played through the pieces that day’s students will be playing
  • Taught 8 lessons
  • Remembered to eat
  • Slept

We do what we do because we love it.?

We’re all passionate about music and sharing that passion with our students.?

But sometimes, it can feel like a LOT.?

And that feeling is not helped when people think all we do is sit down for a few hours to teach the lessons.

When it feels like a lot, you know something needs to change.?

You need to start streamlining processes.?

You need to find ways to give yourself more time so that you still have energy and enthusiasm by the time you get to the actual lessons.

Let me help you.?

On June 11th, 2024 I’m hosting a FREE Workshop to help you take a moment to assess

? The things you’re awesome at?

? Any areas that could be improved

? The unnecessary jobs you’re doing that could be replaced/removed to give you back some more time?
