I do. Of course I do but I think I’m getting the hang of headlines... maybe.

Meanwhile back in London, it’s the second most important moment of my career

our second business is launching in Selfridges!

12 months in the thinking and another 15 months in the making  

And I’m not there.

I’m actually glad I’m not

I don’t need to be

?corn Aperitifs isn’t really my business you see, it’s Claire Warner’s. 

She is the best person for the job, not me.

She is the face, palate & voice (prettier, better & far more eloquent) 

I want no part of it

That’s a lie, of course I do, (making a right meal of these “do I / don’t I’s” aren’t I?) 

Anyway.

I think it’s a really special thing to take an idea & make it a reality, to express a set of beliefs about the world through ingredients and put them out there for people to love or loathe.

And that’s what Claire has done & I'm really f*cking proud of her.

She’ll blush and give herself a hard time reading this but her initial corporate hangover line “so which agency shall we brief on naming?” 

Well...

We can now giggle about.

I know she’s glad WE named it, it cost nothing and our meeting at The Wellcome Collection when we decided on ?corn is a great memory.

?corn and Claire have taught me a lot over the last year

About letting go & getting out the way

About being right back at square one with scribbles on a piece of paper

About watching someone so ready to take on the challenge and run it through their very veins truly embodying everything ?corn Aperitifs stands for.

It’s been a mixture of harder, easier, different and we’re excited and terrified, just as we should be.

But Claire and her team and all the amazing people who have helped this little mighty Acorn come alive... I think have done an incredible job.

So

Get to Selfridges, get your favourite wine glass, ice and sparkling water and toast Claire with an ?corn Spritz.
