I Do Not Understand

I must confess that I am at a loss. My heart is deeply grieved over the horrific event in Las Vegas. As I sat here watching the news coverage I literally choked back tears as I watched the generosity, care, concern, and help offered by so many. All over this country, Paris to Tel Aviv there are flags at half staff, moments of silence and other things being done to show support and too honor the victims in Vegas. No one is asking are you black, white, a racist, a Clinton or Trump supporter, they are just people helping people. We saw the same thing happening in Texas and Florida after the hurricanes. Why does it take 59 dead and over 200 injured in a massacre or natural disasters to bring people together and lay aside our differences? Why is it that we just can't agree to disagree and still care about one another as human beings? If we learn anything from these horrific events we learn that getting along and caring about our fellow man and showing signs of unity is possible. If you read this far I thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts on the subject. It is my hope and prayer that we do not forget that many times this country has come together to help each other and can continue to do so on a daily basis. May our Lord keep you and bless you and be thankful always for what you have.
