I didn't want to write today!

I didn't want to write something
on Mother's Day,
For fear that the world
will judge me and say,
That my words are
cliché and trite,
And that my sentiments
lack insight.
But how can I not
honor the one,
Who raised me and,
taught me to run.
Who wiped away tears,
and kissed away the pain.
And showed me
again and again! :)
I didn't want to write something
on Mother's Day,
For fear that my words
won't convey...
The depth of gratitude?
I feel for all the sacrifices
that was real.
I know it was tough for you,
To be a full-time parent
along with your full-time job,
I can't imagine how you managed it all
But somehow,
you never let us fall.
I don't want to write something
on Mother's Day,
But I want to admit,
I wasn't an easy child to raise,
I tested your patience in countless ways
But you never gave up,
never backed down,
And always wore a smile,
never a frown.
I didn't want to write something
on Mother's Day,
But can’t resist appreciating you,
For all the work you did
to give us everything
And your love,
it was a never-ending spring
You taught us to be kind,
to be strong,
And to always know
where we belong.
And so on this Mother's Day,
I don't want to write more,
But, I want to say that
I love you more than words can convey
And that whatever I am today,
I owe it to you,
For you always believed in me,
and saw me through.
Thank you, Mom,
for all that you've done,
For being my rock, my shelter,
and my shining sun!
Yes you, my Mother… my shining Sun! :)
