I didn’t think I’d end up here

I didn’t think I’d end up here

You may not know this, but I intended to have a career as a doctor.

?

I was a pre-med student at Stanford when I embarked on a trip to India to shadow a doctor there. I felt called to serve the impoverished, but I had no idea of what I would see when I arrived.

?

By Indian standards, the hospital was a modern facility. The hospital administration was proud that they offered procedures as advanced as kidney transplants. But I wasn’t in Palo Alto anymore. What I saw were chipped instruments, crumbling drywall, and bloodstains on the floors.

?

Out in the waiting room, perched on the dilapidated furniture were the families of the patients. As I watched them in their tattered clothes, unbrushed hair, and holed shoes, I reached the conclusion that these people needed help long before they arrived at the hospital.

?

I realized then and there I wasn’t going to be a doctor. What these people needed was not health, but rather wealth.

?

Thus began my career investing in emerging markets just like India. My calling remained the same, but how I executed on it transformed.

?

Sometimes we need to see or experience things first hand before we make a choice. But for many investors who are intrigued by emerging markets, first hand experience can be difficult.

?

That’s where Power of Capital comes in. I’ve spent my career on the ground in emerging markets, meeting with government officials, CEOs, and local business owners. I’ve discovered what opportunities are available to investors not only so they can see greater return on their investment, but so their capital can also have an impact on the communities they invested in.

?

Allow Power of Capital to be your eyes and ears in the field of emerging markets. Don’t lose out on such a large part of the world’s investment opportunity. And most importantly, help me build a better world through the power of capital.

If you’ve had a chance to read through the book, please consider leaving a review on Amazon. Reviews are immensely valuable for first-time authors, and I’d be grateful if you could take a minute to let other readers know what you thought about the book.
