I Didn't See That Coming!

Check out this intriguing?case study?of a pregnant woman in her third trimester who visited our vascular lab for right lower extremity swelling.

Interrogating?her peripheral venous system left me scratching my head.?

I started off with a spectral doppler of her bilateral common femoral veins.

The left common femoral vein was?continuous?and the right common femoral vein waveform displayed a to and fro pattern.

This case drives home the point to pay attention to the b-mode, color flow and spectral Doppler findings In order to piece together the appropriate clinical pathway.

This link will take you to the full clinical CASE! More clinical cases we will share during our LIFE training event in July.

If you enjoyed this case, take a look at our?Iliocaval Ultrasound Protocol Course.

With this course you will gain a thorough skillset regarding how to image iliocaval venous system.

The?technical protocol?is covered step-by-step, focusing on both comprehensive evaluation and image optimization, ensuring that you have the capability to put every piece of the clinical puzzle together.
